The FORAFAMA project aims to advance sustainable management of forests in two of the world's vast forested expanses, the Congo Basin and the Brazilian Amazon Basin. It is funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM). CIFOR, CIRAD, FRM, ONFI, IRD and TEREA formed a consortium to implement the project between 2010 and 2012, but FORAFAMA requires the participation of everyone concerned with forest management in Central Africa: forest concession managers, leaders who shape public policies on sustainable forest management, national stakeholders monitoring climate change initiatives at national level and civil society representatives.
