The general objectives of the project are biodiversity preservation and limitation of GHG emissions from deforestation and forest degradation.

Specific objectives include:

• Promote integration of sustainable forest management policies in the future REEDD mechanism through exchange of experiences in Congo and Amazon Basins.
• Promote sustainbale forest exploitation in a manner compatible wth preservation of forests and their environmental services through maintaining forest stocks for local populations.
